Hetalia Axis Powers by Funimation: Yay or Nay?

I just felt like I had to ask this on the forum.
As you may or may not know, Funimation is going to license the Hetalia Axis Powers animation. I went to dA to get mixed results, but I want to know how you guys feel.

Is it going to succeed or fail?

I haven't seen the series... so I have no official comment...

But Funimation generally finds good voices for any role that they get, so the VA's for the dub should be fine.

I'm just happy that they're dubbing it instead of doing a quick release, budget cut subtitled only version.

Watched the series as a kid, I really don't care if funimaton runs it into the ground or lifts it off its feet. Either way its still going to get more popular.

As for the dub itself... It's true I am a fan of subs and I will most likely watch the series in the subs most often. However, I think it would be really interesting to see it all in English. I am super super excited for the dub.

I know the main issue people are having with the dub is the issue of accents. Personally, I'd be fine if they put in a few of the easiest accents (e.g. just France and England) and kept the rest of them basically in a Midwestern accent. But I know people are going either for no accents at all or every accent. On the one hand, "no accents" means you don't get any flavor. On the other hand "all the accents" creates a problem for Poland who's supposed to be a valley girl. (If anyone figures out how to do a "Polish valley girl accent", let me know!) So I'm all in favor of a middle ground. But I know that's probably not what the director is going to choose - it's mostly likely going to be the black or white approach. So we'll just see when I buy it the second it comes out how it will work.
